Dr. M A Wazed Miah was a renowned Bangladeshi physicist who contributed significantly to the field of science and technology. He was born on February 16, 1942, in Pirgonj, a town located in the northern district of Rangpur, Bangladesh.
Dr. M A Wazed Miah's academic career began at his hometown school. After completing his secondary education, he moved to Dhaka to pursue higher studies. He earned a Bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Dhaka in 1961 and subsequently obtained a Master's degree in physics from the same university in 1964.
After completing his education, Dr. M A Wazed Miah joined the government service as a civil servant in the Ministry of Industries. However, his passion for physics never faded, and he continued to work in the field alongside his civil service duties. In 1973, he obtained a Ph.D. in radiation physics from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
Dr. M A Wazed Miah's contributions to the field of physics were significant, and his research work was widely recognized both at home and abroad. He conducted research in areas such as nuclear radiation, x-ray diffraction, and crystallography.
